Ziplining is one of the most exhilarating attractions in the Great Smoky Mountains. With the wind in your face and scenic mountain views all around, you will truly feel like you are flying through the air. One of the most frequent questions we get from guests is “What should I wear when ziplining?” We’ve put together some great fashion advice for anyone visiting our Gatlinburg ziplines.
Zipling is not the time to wear your Sunday best! Comfortableness and practicality are the two rules of thumb you should use when choosing your zipline attire.
Pants Not Dresses
This might seem like a no-brainer, but dresses aren’t appropriate for ziplining. You will be wearing a harness around your waist and crotch, so long pants are definitely a good decision. Shorts are also acceptable, but the harness might cause them to ride up.
Sneakers or Hiking Boots
You may have to do a bit of walking to get to the start of the zipline course, so make sure that you are wearing practical footwear. Don’t wear open toe shoes.
If you have long hair, pull it back in a ponytail. You don’t want your hair flying in your face during your zipline ride!
Secure Your Pockets
Try to minimize the amount of items you are carrying in your pockets. Also, avoid carrying anything sharp like keys or pens. If you can, try to leave as much as possible in your car. If you do take your cellphone with you, try to put it in a pocket with a zipper on it.
